Here at DFS Wars we will strive to feature our competitors. Today’s post comes from @HeathCapps and focuses on FanDuel pricing.

Pitcher: Danny Salazar ($10,100) @ Chicago White Sox

Salazar strikes out lefties and righties at alarming rates (over 26% to each handedness) and has epic strikeout numbers against current White Sox hitters (38.1% K-rate over 86 AB). He is expensive for a reason–he has ridiculous strikeout potential today and is backed by an elite offense who get to tee off against an eroding southpaw in Derek Holland.

Catcher: Miguel Montero ($2,600) @ Bronson Arroyo

Montero is slashing .350/.381/.500 this season and has good history against 40-year-old Reds starter Bronson Arroyo (2 for 4 with a home run). He’s a cheap catcher, okay? If you want to squeeze in Salazar you may as well save coin in this manner.

First Base: Logan Morrison ($2,300) vs. Joe Musgrove

LoMo is reviving his injury-riddled career so far this season. He already has four home runs against right-handed pitching this season, numbers that are backed by a 42.1% fly ball rate and 36.8% hard contact rate against right-handed pitchers. His opponent, Joe Musgrove, gives up a lot of hard contact to both handedness of hitter and is a sneaky guy to stack against today.

Second Base: Jose Altuve ($4,000) @ Matt Andriese

I love these RvR or LvL splits where the stars align. Andriese gives up more fly balls to RHH than to LHH and allows hard contact 36.5% of the time to RHH. Jose Altuve has been his dependable self this year with a .304 average and seven steals–he could easily rap out a multi-hit game today and get you a swipe or two.

Third Base: Jose Ramirez ($4,100) @ LHP Derek Holland

I will just leave this tweet here:

Shortstop: Jordy Mercer ($2,200) vs. LHP Jordan Montgomery

Francisco Lindor and Xander Bogaerts are obvious calls so I am digging a little deeper. The Pirates and Yankees are an intriguing matchup for multiple reasons today. The Yankees have been obliterating right-handed pitching this season, but Ivan Nova has been en fuego and should be extra-salty against his former team today. The confines of PNC Park also tip the scale towards the pitchers, in my humble opinion…but for 2.2K I am down with punting shortstop in an effort to get some of these expensive studs in.

Outfield: Steven Souza, Jr. ($3,300) vs. Joe Musgrove

I’m not listing three guys at a large position, but I am continuing to pick on Joe Musgrove, apparently. Souza has traditionally been more powerful against southpaws, but so far this season he appears to have figured things out against right-handed hurlers. He is slashing .353/.431/.588 against RHP with a .235 ISO and .436 wOBA. He is making hard contact against RHP 38.9% of the time. Those numbers will fall back to earth eventually, but for now I am riding the wave.

You can actually build a lineup with the above-named if you find yourself a pair of outfielders. Let me know if you do, and who you choose to round things out. Good luck grinding today, gents.
